Why Choose PrepRoom SAT Classes

How We Actually Teach the SAT

We don't just hand students a book. Here's exactly how PrepRoom prepares students to score higher.

We Start with the Basics

Every student begins with a diagnostic test to identify weak areas. We build from the ground up — foundational Math, English grammar, and reading comprehension before moving to advanced strategies.

We Drill with Past Questions

We use real SAT past questions and College Board practice tests from day one. Students learn to recognize patterns, master question types, and eliminate wrong answers quickly.

Students Prepare on Laptops

Since the SAT is fully digital, our students practise on laptops using the College Board Bluebook app from the start. No surprises on test day — they're already comfortable with the real exam environment.

Convenient Online Format

Weekday classes run live on Zoom so students anywhere in Ghana can join without travelling. Saturday in-person sessions at our Tema centre provide hands-on support and exam simulation.

99th Percentile Tutors

Our instructors score in the top 1% of SAT takers. They've mastered the exam themselves and bring that experience to every student across our Ghana and USA teams.

Consistent Score Improvement

Students who commit to our programme see an average improvement of 100+ points. Some have scored so highly that College Board personally invited them to become official SAT tutors.

Important: QA PrepRoom does not administer the SAT exam. Our classes prepare you for the official SAT, which is administered by College Board at approved test centers. When you enroll with us, our team will personally guide you through everything you need to know about sitting the exam.

Understanding Your Score

What Is a Good SAT Score?

The SAT is scored on a 400–1600 scale (English and Math combined). Here's what different score ranges mean for your university options.

1200+  ·  Competitive
1350–1450  ·  Strong
1500+  ·  Excellent

You can gain admission to U.S. universities with most scores — many schools accept students from a wide range. A score of 1200+ opens the door to a large number of programmes and scholarships. As your score improves, so does your access: 1350+ puts you in contention for top-tier schools and merit funding, and 1500+ puts you firmly in Ivy League territory.

The Ivy League
What Score Do I Need for the Best Schools?

The Ivy League refers to eight prestigious universities in the USA — Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Columbia, Brown, Dartmouth, Cornell, and UPenn. Admission is extremely competitive.

1480–1580
Typical SAT range for Ivy League admits

Attending an Ivy League university can set you up for life — world-class education, unmatched networking, and access to alumni networks that open doors globally.

Now that you know what a competitive score looks like, here's how one PrepRoom student hit that mark and what happened next.

The Right First Step
Don't Start with the Exam. Start with Preparation.

Before you worry about exam dates and test centers, the most important step is getting properly prepared. Sitting the SAT without strong preparation is a wasted attempt, and the exam costs money to retake.

When you enroll in a QA PrepRoom SAT class, we handle everything alongside you: we'll help you understand when to register, guide you through the process, and make sure you only sit the exam when you're genuinely ready to score well.

Common Questions

SAT Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our classes and the official exam, answered clearly.

How are QA PrepRoom SAT classes structured?
Our classes are hybrid — online Zoom sessions Mon–Fri plus in-person Saturdays at our Tema Centre. This allows students across Ghana to participate while still getting personal, hands-on support from our tutors.
What if I've never studied for the SAT before?
No problem. Most of our students start with little or no SAT experience. Before classes begin we conduct a diagnostic test to assess your current level. This helps us create a personalized learning plan focused on where you need the most support.
How long does it take to be ready for the SAT?
It depends on where you start and how committed you are. Most students who attend consistently and complete practice work see strong score gains within 3–6 months. Our team monitors your progress and will let you know when your practice results show you're ready to sit the real exam.
Can I use only a phone for the SAT?
It's not advised. Since the SAT is now fully digital, students should have access to a laptop or computer for both PrepRoom classes and the official exam. Practicing digitally helps you get comfortable with the real exam format before test day.
What is the difference between the two SAT classes?
Both classes cover the same SAT curriculum and are taught by the same expert tutors. The difference is pacing and scheduling. The High School Students class runs June to August 2026 and is designed for students who have recently completed WASSCE or A-Level. The University Students class runs over 12 months with flexible morning and evening sessions to fit around a degree programme.
When should I start preparing for the SAT?
The earlier the better. For the best results, especially if you're targeting top schools or scholarships, starting 6–12 months ahead gives you more practice time and room for improvement. If your goal is a specific intake year, speak to our team and we'll help you plan backwards from your target exam date.
Do I still need the SAT if I already have WASSCE results?
Yes. Most universities abroad, especially in the USA, UK, and Canada, require an SAT score in addition to your WASSCE results. The SAT measures academic potential; universities review both to understand your full background.
How do I register for a PrepRoom SAT class?
You can register directly through our online form (linked on this page), send us a WhatsApp message at 059-3955699 or 020-814-3265, or email us at info@mypreproom.com. Our team will respond promptly and walk you through the next steps.
