Frequently Asked Questions

Got Questions? We've Got Answers

What's the difference between the Standard and Ivy League package?
The Standard Package covers school selection, essays, applications, scholarships, and visa support for a range of US, Canadian, and UK schools. The Ivy League Package includes everything in the Standard Package, plus dedicated targeting of Ivy League and highly competitive schools — with a stronger essay strategy, profile building, and financial aid negotiation.
Do I need an SAT score to apply through PrepRoom?
Not always, but a strong SAT score significantly improves your scholarship prospects. Many of our students take our SAT class before enrolling in admissions consulting. We'll advise you on whether the SAT is required or recommended for your target schools.
How many schools will I apply to?
For undergrad, we typically apply to 10 US schools in your list, plus Canada, UK, and other country add-ons depending on your profile and goals. The number is tailored to your situation — we'll discuss this during your consultation.
Can I apply for a Master's even if my undergraduate degree isn't from a top school?
Yes. Many graduate programs abroad evaluate your GPA, GRE scores, work experience, and Statement of Purpose — not just where you did your undergrad. Our consultants know how to position your profile to show your strengths and write a compelling SOP.
Can I study something different from what I studied in Ghana?
Absolutely — this is one of the biggest opportunities studying abroad offers. Many Ghanaian students use a Master's degree to switch into a completely different field. Your GRE score, statement of purpose, and relevant experience are what matter most.
How do I pay for PrepRoom's consulting services?
Payments are made via Mobile Money (MoMo) to our Ghana operations team. A registration fee is required to get started, followed by programme fees. Contact us on WhatsApp for current pricing details.
How long does the whole admissions process take?
Typically 3–6 months from consultation to submission. Decisions usually arrive 1–3 months after submission. We recommend starting at least 6 months before your target application deadline — earlier if you also need SAT prep.
Does QA PrepRoom help with visas too?
Yes. After you're accepted, we guide you through the student visa application process — including document preparation, visa interview coaching, and pre-departure planning. Our team in the USA also welcomes students as they arrive and settle in.
